Intro

What is the Nuclivision Gateway?

The Nuclivision Gateway is DICOM-compatible software that receives DICOM images from an imaging device or archive as a storage class provider (SCP). Then it de-identifies patient information, compresses and securely transfers them to Nuclivision for processing. After processing, the gateway receives the processed DICOM images, decompresses, and re-identifies them. At last, its storage class user (SCU) stores them back to the DICOM archive.

Gateway Overview

Where does it run?

The Nuclivision Gateway runs on a Windows-based computer on the local network of an imaging facility or hospital. The computer may be a physical PC or a virtual machine. The Nuclivision Gateway runs as a system service on the computer and does not require a user to be logged in.

Does it require a VPN?

No. The Nuclivision Gateway uses transport layer security (TLS) to securely communicate with the Nuclivision Cloud over the internet.

Recommendations

It is recommended that the Nuclivision Gateway server be used solely for the purpose of transmitting studies to Nuclivision. Installing any unrelated software packages increases the risk of issues and may impact performance.
