Installation Guide
The following is a step-by-step guide to deploy the Nuclivision on-premises stack using Docker Compose.
Pre-install checklist
- You have a designated Device ID from Nuclivision. If not, contact Nuclivision support.
- The server meets the Technical Requirements.
- Docker Engine and Docker Compose v2 are installed.
- The NVIDIA driver is installed and
nvidia-smishows your GPU. - The NVIDIA Container Toolkit is installed and configured.
1. Install NVIDIA Container Toolkit
If not already installed, follow the official NVIDIA guide. Verify it works:
docker run --rm --gpus all nvidia/cuda:12.6-base nvidia-smi
You should see your GPU listed in the output.
2. Obtain the deployment package
You will receive the Docker Compose configuration files from your Nuclivision support contact.
3. Configure environment variables
Copy the example environment file and fill in your credentials:
cp .env.example .env
Edit .env and set your Device ID and access credentials:
# .env
DEVICE_ID=your-device-id
ACCESS_KEY=your-access-key
ACCESS_SECRET=your-access-secret
4. Start the stack
docker compose up -d
Verify all services are running:
docker compose ps
5. Verify GPU access
Confirm that the Nuclarity container has GPU access:
docker compose exec nuclarity nvidia-smi
6. Enable automatic startup
Create a systemd service so the stack starts automatically when the server boots:
sudo tee /etc/systemd/system/nuclivision.service > /dev/null <<EOF
[Unit]
Description=Nuclivision On-Premises Stack
After=docker.service
Requires=docker.service
[Service]
Type=oneshot
RemainAfterExit=yes
WorkingDirectory=/path/to/nuclivision
ExecStart=/usr/bin/docker compose up -d
ExecStop=/usr/bin/docker compose down
[Install]
WantedBy=multi-user.target
EOF
Replace /path/to/nuclivision with the actual path to your deployment directory, then enable the service:
sudo systemctl enable nuclivision.service
7. Set up firewall rules
Ensure your local firewall allows DICOM traffic:
- Inbound: Port 104 (or your configured SCP port) for DICOM association requests
- Outbound: Port configured for your SCU storage destinations
8. Configure DICOM settings
Access the configuration UI at http://<server-ip>:5000 and configure your PACS and modalities as described in the Configuration Guide.
